13 Year Old Boy Collects Toys For Young
Cancer Patients at Children's

Eric Wittenstein of Dunwoody couldn't wait for his Bar Mitzvah. What was unique about Eric's Bar Mitzvah is the very special way in which he chose to celebrate it.   This young teenage boy chose to collect toys and gifts at his once in a lifetime celebration and donate them to patients at the Aflac Cancer Center and Blood Disorders Service of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.  Additionally, he sent out a note out with the invitations that mentioned that a portion of any monetary gifts received would be used to purchase additional gifts for the patients battling childhood cancer and blood disorders.

Eric's grandfather passed away from Leukemia four years ago. He was the only grandparent to miss Eric's big day this past June. In his grandfather's honor, Eric chose to collect and purchase the items for the young Aflac Cancer Center patients at his Bar Mitzvah. To incorporate his efforts at the Bar Mitzvah, Eric also helped construct beautiful boxes to hold the toys and used them as centerpieces at the event (instead of flowers).
Eric efforts resulted in an amazing amount of toys for the young cancer and blood disorder patients at the Aflac Cancer Center! As a not-for-profit organization, the Aflac Cancer Center relies on generous community support like this from Eric.
